Mexico → US / EU shoe-size converter

Mexico, the US, and the EU each use different scales for shoe sizing. Mexican sizes are essentially the foot length in centimetres (Mondopoint). US adult sizes scale roughly by 1/3 inch per size from the same base length. EU sizes use the Paris point — 2/3 cm per size.

This converter uses the most common adult-size approximations:

US size = Mexico size − 2

EU size = Mexico size + 18

These are workable rules of thumb that fit major brand size charts to within half a size. For specialty footwear, always check the brand's own chart.

How to use

  1. Enter the Mexican shoe size (e.g. 25 for a 25 cm foot length).

FAQ

Why don't the conversions line up exactly?

Each region's sizing scale uses different base units (centimetre vs Paris point vs barleycorn). The conversions are linear approximations, accurate to within ~½ size for most brands.

What about kids' or women's-specific sizes?

Children's and women's-specific charts use different offsets. This converter targets adult Mexican sizing (Mondopoint cm) and the unisex/men's US scale.

What if my foot is between sizes?

Round up. Going slightly larger is almost always more comfortable than going slightly smaller, and most brands' designs assume some allowance.
