What does this calculate?
This calculator gives you the net profit and ROI of a single NFT trade:
profit = sell price − buy price − total fees
ROI (%) = (profit / buy price) × 100
A positive number means you made money. A negative number means you lost, even if you sold for more than you paid — fees can eat the difference.
How to use
- Buy price — what you paid for the NFT, in USD-equivalent.
- Sell price — what you received on sale, before fees.
- Gas & marketplace fees — the total of:
- Ethereum (or other chain) gas paid for the buy + sell transactions - Marketplace commissions (e.g. OpenSea ~2.5%, Blur 0%, Magic Eden ~2%) - Creator royalties (typically 5–10%)
Profit and ROI compute instantly.
What counts as "fees"
The big ones, easy to forget:
- Network gas on both buy and sell. On Ethereum mainnet during congestion, a single transaction can cost $50–$200.
- Marketplace fee — usually a percentage of sale price.
- Royalty — paid to the original creator on each secondary sale.
- Bridging or swap fees if you converted ETH ↔ another token or chain.

FAQ
What if I'm holding (haven't sold yet)?
Use the current floor price (or your best guess of a sale price) as the sell price. The result is your unrealized profit — until you actually sell, it's just paper.
How do I account for ETH price changes?
If you bought when ETH was class="jsx-43013d48d08af43a site-content ",200 and sold when ETH was $3,500, your gain in USD-terms is bigger than your gain in ETH-terms. This calculator measures the USD profit. For ETH-denominated profit, do the math in ETH and ignore the dollar movement.
What about taxes?
Not handled here. In most jurisdictions, NFT sales are taxable as capital gains. Track your cost basis and consult a tax professional.
