Types of body shapes

Everybody is different and each person is unique. It doesn't matter what your body looks like, you should love it. Let's look at the different body shapes for men and women:

Body shapes for women

Rectangle, straight, banana: Your waist measurements should be approximately the same size as your hips, bust, and shoulders.
Triangle or pear: You will notice that your shoulders and bust are wider than your hips when you have this shape. You have likely slim arms and a defined waist. Your waistline will slope out towards your hips.
Spoon: The spoon body type looks very similar to the triangle. Your hips are likely to be wider than your bust. This can give you a "shelf" appearance. You are likely to have a defined waist. You may also be carrying some weight in your upper arms, upper thighs, and upper torso.
Hourglass: Hourglass shape is when your hips and bust size are almost equal. If you have a well-defined waist, which is narrower than the other, then you have a good chance of having an hourglass shape. Your upper body and legs are likely to be proportionate. You may have slightly rounded shoulders and rounded buttocks.
Top hourglass: Although you are an hourglass shape, your bust measurements may be slightly larger than those of your hips.
Bottom hourglass: Although you are a general hourglass shape, your hip measurements are slightly larger that your bust.
Inverted triangle or apple: If your shoulders, bust, and hips are larger than your relatively narrow hips you may be an apple shape or inverted triangle.
Round or oval: Your bust should be larger than the rest. If your hips are wider than your body, and your midsection is more full, then you may have what is commonly known as a round or oval type of body.
Diamond: The diamond body shape refers to someone with wider hips and shoulders than your shoulders, a narrower bust, and a more fuller waistline. This type can cause you to have more weight on your upper legs. Your arms may be slimmer.
Athletic: A muscular body with a curvy shape could be considered an athlete body type. Your hips and shoulders are roughly the same. Your waistline is slightly narrower than your hips or shoulder, but it's not too defined. It looks straighter up and down.

Body shapes for men

Ectomorph: This body type is known for its fast metabolism and ability to lose weight quickly. They are often short and tall, with small shoulders and narrow shoulders.
Mesomorph: This body type is the most commonly seen in males. It is also known for being very athletic and defined. These people are known to be able gain muscle and fat quickly, and they also have a normal metabolic rate.
Endomorph: This body type is short and has a slower metabolism. It is known to have a slower metabolism and a shorter body. This makes it difficult for people with this type of body to lose fat but gain muscle quickly. They are usually stronger in the upper legs, and have thicker arms and legs.
